Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Tonight, 'Girls' Season 2 premieres on HBO. I know the anticipation has been killing all of us young females as we have been waiting anxiously for new episodes. So, lets recap real quick. Can you believe Hannah and Adam? This is totally going to be tough on him. I keep laughing at the fact that Hannah's ex-gay boyfriend is her new roomie and adore the idea of Marnie going with the flow of life. I think everyone needs to do that once in a while. Unpredictable Jessa and the threesome guy?! Seriously? Married? If that didn't shock us all, but something Jessa would totally do. As for Shoshanna, V-card... gone! Yikes... but something any guy by the name of Ray would totally do. I think we have a lot to look forward to this season and can't wait to see what happens. Loving all of the ladies in floral. Adore Jessa's printed pants, Hannah's brilliant, bright blue, Shoshanna's wedges and Marnie's lip stick that matches her frock! Super fab girls!!

The boys are looking all dapper at the Season 2 Premiere. Ray's skinny tie is super fab, Adam's sleek hair is hunky, Elijah's detailed collar is the perfect twist along with the gray suit and I have an obsession with Charlie's grungy look and scruff. Love!

From Dashing To Grungy Plus A Hunky Twist

Award season is finally here and I couldn't be more excited. After taking the time to enjoy the holidays and start up on my New Year resolutions (did anyone else make any?) I am so thrilled to start the year off with the best and worst from this evenings 39th Annual People's Choice Awards which were held at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. 

Absolutely loving Lea Michele and her hot pink mini, she deserves this years best dressed. While her fashion may have suffered last year, she certainly knew how to bring out 2013 with a bang (lets hope it continues!) The detail of the frock is exquisite and she went simple and sweet with her makeup and hair, which is always a bonus. Less is more and in this case, much more! Way to go girl!

Ellen Pompeo might as well have worn her scrubs off set to the party. Awarded worst dressed, do I even need to explain why? Looking like she just got done dumpster diving, she tossed on moms table cloth and threw a small saddle around her waist. Did I mention her hair needs some serious work as well. Yikes!

        And finally...

A little bonus to all the struggling men out there trying to figure out a way to piece an ensemble together for the next big event... lets just say this is the way to go. Sizzling Jensen Ackles (back away ladies, my bff will one day be engaged to this hunk) shines in this awesome wine colored suit. Such a twist on things, I dig this look on any dude. The color goes great with just about any skin tone. Last but certainly not least, my main squeeze, Adam Levine, seems to bring it to the table (as always, obvi!) in this blue suit and radical dress shirt. Both of these hunks deserve an A+ while it takes a twist on something other than your basic black suit. Divine!

          

Rockstar Face-offs (Week Three)

Each week, two famous celebrities face-off in a style challenge here on Doll Maison, allowing us to decide who rocked the look better. This week, "Rockstar Face-offs" Kate Hudson and Tyra Banks model the one of a kind Marchesa gown! Kate adds a matching clutch and earrings to create a more chic, structured and put together look, Tyra opts for a more dramatic and flirty look while choosing the raspberry version of the dress and rocking voluminous curls. So, who do you think owned this gown? The Darling Princess And The Repetitive Queen Bee

Tonight, the 46th CMA Awards were held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Among several country artists I obviously had my eye peeled for the best and worst dressed. You can only imagine the thoughts that kept flying through my head and while I finally came to a conclusion on my best and worst, I hope you agree even if its just a little. 

Taylor Swift scored best dressed as she dazzles in a nude and red petal gown. Adoring the fact that she incorporated the gorgeous hue that she just named her fourth studio album, "Red" sold over 1.2 million copies in the first week which is the biggest record release in the past decade. As we await her nationwide 2013 tour, we have to gush over this gorgeous ensemble that she accompanies with her signature red lipstick. Way to go Taylor! We love you! 

Kimberly Perry looks like a hot mess at the 2010.. no, 2011.. no! 2012 CMA Awards. For the third straight year in a row, Kimberly hits the carpet begging for some kind of help. Whether it be a hair stylist, actual fashion stylist or therapist (for all the criticism she is going to get), we sincerely wish that she would take someone else's advice or at least take a poll before she hit the town. This awful black dress not only makes her look bizarre but the obvious and ugly oversized red belt is a no-no. I can't forget to mention the hair. What, did you forget Halloween was yesterday and not today! You are just a day late my love.

Best Bang For Your Buck

With November finally here and the holidays around the corner it is vital for us to look fashionable and sexy. Sometimes it can be hard managing money while in the process of buying gifts and going to the grocery store for baking items. Of course we spend more money during the holiday season than any other time. I usually get asked the same question around this time of year from my girlfriends in college "Where can I find a cute and affordable outfit while still having left over cash for basics, gifts and groceries." Simple. Check out my dress guide below, every dress under $50!

This Frenchi Boxy High/Low Dress ($44) is great with a leopard or sparkly belt. Add spunky jewelry or go simple with diamond stud earrings. Pair a neutral heel, wedge or boot with this and accompany it with a pair of tights if needed. 

Snatch this cozy Buttoned Sweater Dress ($23) that can be paired with simple jewels, booties (pictured above), heels or knee-high boots. Opt for long waves or sleek bun. 

This stylish Polka Dot Ponte Peplum Dress ($29) is fashion forward while also providing a sweet and sassy vibe. Pair with black heels and classic jewelry, something clean and effortless.

The Open Back Lace Skater Dress ($30) is flirty and fun and would look fab with some nude or sparkly heels. Red is a perfect holiday color and a hue you can take with you all year round. 

This bold City Triangles ($25) frock is great if you are looking for something eye catching and a little bit more dramatic. Add black, glimmering accessories and choose straightened hair or a sleek bun. 

Gushing Over Kate

I wanted to take a minute and obsess over this adorable style from one of my favorite girls, Kate Moss! Seriously, how charming is she in her gray biker jacket, white tee, matching gray skinny jeans and sassy brown fringe boots! Like, I am literally dying. I love love love how her hair looks like she just jumped out of bed (few can do this) while she takes a lovely stroll with her sweet dog, Archie. Perf! I have always admired Kate and her impeccable style. She can make a casual outfit look so chic and darling. "When it comes to dressing, I follow my feeling and just get dressed…" -KM 

Battle Of The Bloom

The 2012 VMA's were held Thursday and boy did we get our fair share of fashion. You should know by now how excited I get for award shows. I mean, the fashion is typically beyond words (sensing the sarcasm I hope) of course. Thankfully I had the honor of discovering one gorgeous babe. In the mean time, I also had to thumb my way though a dozen and a half worst dressed look. I just pray that the fashion gods come down sometime soon and help these desperate celebs out. I think it's the only shot we got. 

Demi Lovato was looking smoking hot in her adorable, sparkly, black mini frock. She mixed her edgy studded leather jacket and rockin' black booties while performing "Give Your Heart a Break" outside the Staples Center at the VMA pre-show. She didn't forget to apply that super sexy red lipstick while she gave her hair a break with beach waves.

OH EM GEE. For realies! I seriously wanted to go smoke a bong (in honor of Miley of course) when I witnessed this whole ensemble. Honestly, it makes me want to arrange my funeral, like... now! Who on God's green earth believes this disaster is appropriate. My goodness. The black boob-a-licious dress has "N-O" written all over it and to top it off that god-awful mohawk of hers desperately needs to disappear. What happened to the pretty Miley we all love and know. 

Sophisticated Scallops

Who doesn't love some simple yet superb shorts! One of the most beloved types of shorts among many this summer have been the scalloped designs. While many celebrities have been seen sporting these spunky shorts, lots of average women have fallen in love with the same kinds. Buy a pair before summer is gone and wear them into fall with tights. 

Olivia Palermo knows how to work it in these fun shorts. She opts for the bright floral printed pair while mixing together a floral top, leopard flats and a wicker handbag. Olivia tops it off with cat sunnies and a classic ponytail.

Anne Hathaway flaunts these cute blue scallops with white polka dots while taking her dog for a walk in the city. She works together a gray tee and black flats while completing her ensemble with a simple necklace and black stylish sunnies.

All smiles and gorgeous as ever, Kate Bosworth looks radiant in her super chic nude colored shorts. Kate rocks a shimmer blush colored top and tan sandals to complement the nude shorts. She goes for beach waves and a small, matching shoulder bag which supplies a calm and relaxed look. 

Bohemian Beach Babe

I have a little obsession with the Boho Beach vibe. I thought I would pick a couple of my favorite outfits and let you know how I would style them. You can't go wrong with a crochet dress or detailed summer shorts before we dive into fall and winter. With each of these ensembles, I find it important to style them up with good makeup and hair. See what I have to say below.

This boho style 'Legend Indio Crochet Dress' ($298) is the perfect beach ensemble for your topical getaway. Add some cute gold or brown strappy sandals for a more chill, relaxed vibe. Choose beach waved hair and natural makeup. Don't forget your sparkly bronzer, which will add the perfect touch of sexy.

Snatch these adorable 'Riley Daisy Denim Shorts' ($80) that would look perfect with a skinny yellow belt and relaxed white blouse or tee (as shown). Don't forget those sassy sunnies to block the bright sun. Pair these shorts with some dazzling sandals or nude wedges and throw your hair up in a ponytail or sleek bun. Opt for beachy but dark makeup, adding in some brown and tan eyeshadow. As always, obviously, pout your lips with some light pink gloss. 

Pick A Lock (Part One)

I have a hair appointment next week and while I always struggle with how to style my hair, I ALWAYS rely on my celeb look alike's to help me out. I need some MAJ advice. Do you think I should continue growing my hair out so I can get Kim's long look, keep my length now like Ashley's or cut it short for fall like Katy? What do you think! Immaculate And Unsuitable

At the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, held at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California, I had the pleasure of viewing all of the fashion hits and misses. While I typically take award shows very seriously, I had trouble taking this years Teen Choice serious. I cannot decide if it was because it included so many young kids or that I am accustomed to the usual bad fashion. Luckily, I decided on a best and worst and am excited to show you. Check it out below. 

Sexy mama, Kat Graham looked beyond words PERFECT in this bright patterned, peach Mara Hoffman mini while accompanying it with bold blue and purple Gio Diev heels and a neutral clutch. I appreciate how appropriate and different this look was. Love it!

While Hanna Martin is my favorite character and the one I relate to most on Pretty Little Liars, Ashley Benson really took on a fashion fail. I cannot understand how such a beautiful girl would want to dress so terrible. The lace corset and baggy pants are a definite N-O! Love the hair and black nails but couldn't we have done something a little more fun and less well, tacky.

Keeping Up With Penelope

For the past week, I have anxiously been awaiting the arrival of Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick's new bundle of joy (while I am sure most Kardash fanatics have been). As an aspiring Kardashian ( just joking... Not really, who are we kidding, I am obsessed!) I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that they have welcomed daughter Penelope Scotland Disick to the world this evening. While I am over the moon for the gorgeous couple and precious son Mason, I present some of the most darling fashions worn by Kourt and Scott. 

Looking sophisticated and sweet, Kourtney shines in this printed dress while mixing it with big, bold earrings and bright red lips while Scott looks immaculate in a simple, very put together suit and fab hair.

Adoring the fact that the couple can both flaunt leopard and look so perfect, I am seriously captivated by Kourt's shorts and Scott's loafers. Can this look get any more perfect! Meow!

I am loving Scott's dapper suit and matching cane while I definitely want Kourtney's adorbs black dress, tights and leopard heels for myself. Can we already agree that they are the best dressed couple in Hollywood!

Killer Queen

You first heard of her when she was kissing a girl (and liked it!) while a few years later she was sippin' gin and juice layin' underneath the palm trees. Now, quirky pop princess Katy Perry is starring in her very own; Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D. The movie is a look at the "real" Katy, while she showcases how she dealt with all the personal bumps in the road during her 2011 California Dreams excursion. Below is a look at some of her yummy costume changes while on tour. 

Looking like a teenage dream, KP wears this fun cupcake themed costume and signature blue wig.

One of the hottest hair trends right now is all different kinds of braiding. This adds a chic, fun and sassy look to any outfit. It is one of my favorite looks right now and anyone can do it. Try it out!
