Les Chic, Les Chien (Week Seven)

Each week, I review one hundred looks, half of which induce the phonetic uh-mey-zing and half of which induce more violent vomit than the night Jake chose Vienna. With this series (translation: the cool, the rotten), you will ascertain, via my eyes, why an ensemble should spend an evening as your apparel or why an ensemble should spend an evening inside a nondescript box whose ultimate destination is the Salvation Army.

All I can think of when I see Cameron Diaz rock this supreme ensemble is Eddie Money's "Take Me Home Tonight." I swear I am straight. But seriously, look how amazing she looks. Not only does she have one of the best bodies in Hollywood, she will be 40 on August 30 (yeah, I know! Unreal.) I love the bright and simple red orange top she sports while supplying a touch of spunk with her printed skirt. She accompanies the luxurious look with a striking yellow shoulder bag, hoop earrings and a modern bun. As Cameron's character in What Happens In Vegas replies to in response to Jack Fuller's "How hard can it be?" Joy McNally replies "I know how hard it isn't." This is exactly what her outfit speaks. Way to go Diaz!

Our sweet Pretty Little Liar star, Ashley Benson, has seriously been a disappointment these days. She got worst dressed in my "Immaculate and Unsuitable" Teen Choice Award post, and she totally gets this weeks "les chien" look. I don't favor her flat bill sports hat that she mingles with her rock 'n' roll top, skinny jeans and Tom shoes. It totally throws me off and whoever honestly thought it was okay to mix sports and rock 'n' roll was seriously disturbed. I think she should consider taking some advice from her Pretty Little Liars character Hanna Martin, because honestly, she really needs it. I can only imagine what Hanna would have to say about this. Ew!

Sexy Shoulders

Everyone loves a little shoulder. Especially the fashion forward. Why not love your sexy shoulders! It's the one body part that doesn't gain weight for heavens sake. Flaunt your sassy shoulders with all the confidence that you have and own them in a cut-out blouse or dress. Below are some celebrity looks as well as places to purchase the hippest cut-out ensembles.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley goes casual in a white cut-out tee and jeans. She mingles black flats, a cute floppy hat and handbag with her fun and free-spirited outfit.

Blake Lively mixes exotic and glam in a cut-out shoulder mini, blue, turquoise and gold necklace and taupe booties. The gossip girl star carries a purple tote while she rocks some gorge beach wave hair.

Get the look below.

Snatch this adorbs Open Shoulder Tee at Akira ($27) and pair it with shorts (above), jeans or leggings.

Get the absolute (and my personal favorite) Embroidered Flamenco Dress at Free People ($128). Sport some frilly fringe sandals or fab wedges with this amazing frock.

Are You Ready Boots? Start Walkin'!

Summer boots are extremely popular. With the excitement and rave over them, it is vital that we don't style them the way we would in the fall or winter. You have to be very careful. For example, breathable linen booties are ideal for the warm weather because they won't overheat your feet. Fun prints are great against a bare leg and pairing your booties with cute breezy dresses always amplifies the look. Keep an eye on the boots you toss on. Fringe can be overwhelming and thigh-high boots can make you hot and sweaty which leads to itching and potentially dry skin. Below are some popular summer boots and great ways to own the look.

Kate Bosworth shimmers, per usual, in a multi colored sweater, jean skirt and adorable summer booties. She dazzled the look with perfect beach waved hair. Darling!

Rachel Bilson models some sexy leopard boots with a simple navy tee and jean shorts while out and about in the city of angels.

While making an important call (probably to hottie boyfriend, Justin Bieber) Selena Gomez owns knee- high boots (better than thigh-high) which she accompanied with a peace sign top and white shorts.

Wanna snag a great pair of boots for the end of summer that can easily transition to fall? Check out Doll Maison's "Keep Makin' Me Ill (Week Eight)" sunday shoe series for some awesome boots.

Keep Makin' Me Ill (Week Eight)

I have what the unenlightened would deride as a compulsion, fetish, infatuation, or obsession, yet I value as a virus every male and female should contract, Seriously Irresistible Shoes Syndrome. I need clothes (how many consecutive afternoons can one wear Lauren Conrad leggings? Love you LC), however when I even glimpse espadrilles, flats, sandals, stilettos, or wedges; necessities be damned! My eyes shimmer, my heart flutters, and within two hours, I’m reorganizing my closet because last week’s pair has new neighbors.

*These sexy and sweet Michael Kors 'Davenport' Booties ($195) are sure to be your best friend this fall. Grab these super seductive boots and pair them with jeans and a tee or cute mini.

*I love the Steve Madden 'Morgen' Boots ($290). They are excellent for that crisp fall weather. Purchase some skinny jeans or leggings and sport these fantastic knee-high boots around town. You'll be sure to get some looks.

While I favorite this gorgeous, envy green hue, I heart these booties just as much. Fantastic with a radical top and black, denim or white jeans, pair these House of Harlow 1960 'Natalia' Booties ($295) with just about anything in your wardrobe.

*I absolutely adore these Michael Kors 'Padova' Pumps ($325). They are great with an all black ensemble. Think black blouse and black pencil skirt or a LBD. Add some sparkly jewelry to complete the look.

These delicious L.A.M.B. 'Dotty' Pumps ($395) scream "Wear me you sexy whole bit beotch!" Loving them to death, they are totally worth your paycheck. These pumps would look stunning with any dress of choice. Or, simply rock a sparkly top and some bootcut denim.

*Shoes part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (sale price NOT listed above). Get your pair of perfection now at the discounted price before prices go back up August 6.
