Charming Coral And An Avoidable Upset

While the 70th annual Golden Globes were less than a week ago, it is obviously vital we recap. If we learned anything from this years Globes, it is clear that no one, I repeat, no one can pull off an Angelina Jolie leg show (Eva Longoria, don't even try that again babe) and may I ask what in the world was up with all the after party looks (Nina Dobrev, seriously you get less attractive everyday. Grandma much!) You would imagine with all the money these celebrities have that they would hire a decent stylist or something. Perhaps give Rachel Zoe a call. I know she can't save us all but she certainly could lend a few tips. I narrowed it down to my best and worst and hope you agree with my picks because I am starting to think I may be the only one in this industry with half a brain.

This incredible coral color from Jessica Alba without a doubt belongs in her closet. I gush over this Oscar de la Renta look like a kid in a candy shop drools for bags of candy. Glowing in this dress she rocks the vibrant color. I love how her hair is swept to the side, her golden skin tone goes great with the makeup choice and that glistening necklace may be one of the best things she could have decided to add with this gown! Absolutely stunning. Jess blows me away.

I never understood everyone's fascination with Halle Berry and now I certainly don't. Is this Versace gown serious or am I simply dreaming? My mom just pinched me to alarm me of the fact that this is more than real. Who in the h-e-double hockey sticks decided on this piece of garbage! The high slit and cut out by her hip just screams "skank!" This does not cry Hollywood glamour. I don't expect everyone to model a classic style but I do expect some self respect and this is certainly not the frock to do so. The hair and jewelry is a complete hot mess as well. Do us a favor Halle and never show up again.

The Ultimate Fall 2012 Manicure Guide

Want the latest on manicures and nail polishes for this fall? I have the most popular trends right at the tips of your fingers (literally!) Grab a hold of these luscious looks and wear them with pride to your next big event. Nail art has never looked better!

Busy Phillips two-toned nail trend is one of the most popular trends of the season. Rocking a gold bead-embellished turquoise and black mani, Busy's nails worked perfectly with her printed dress. Super heavenly!

Funny girl, Khloe Kardashian tweets a picture of her "Chanel Rain" inspired nails that are absolutely fascinating and something that we should all try. Going artistic and adventurous is the new thing to do, obviously! Adorbs!

Bad girl Kristen Stewart knows what's up. She decides on super glimmering metallic nails, the must-have color of the season! How captivating and daring are these?! If you are having a hard time deciding what to do next with your nails, go metallic. You won't regret it.

Christina Milian models a blue sparkly manicure. While fall tends to look towards darker hues, be sure to add that cute little sparkle, a way to make things sassy and fun.

Front row at Paris Fashion Week, Jessica Alba rocks this lovely combination. She chooses to go a distinct route with neutral colored nails while the tips are coffee colored, matching her ring finger hue. Very different but something I am going to do next week at the nail salon!

Jessica Szohrs nail art is absolutely delightful and spunky as she opts for dark blue and purple sparkly nails. I love how they slowly change on each nail bud. Super clever and super fearless.

Fall Fash 411

While I sit and write on this chilly and rainy afternoon, I realize it is time to let fall back into our lives again and what better way to do that than with fashion! Below are some fun new ways to add to your autumn filled wardrobe.

Collar Necklaces
Collar Necklaces have become very popular lately and are such a versatile accessory. Be sure to pair them with plain tops or dresses, like Elizabeth Banks. For more detail or volume, add a sparkly collar necklace over your neutral one.

Mustard Yellow Blouses
Mustard Yellow is a darker shade of the yellow you sport in summer. This color presents a fall vibe and looks awesome on most people. Be sure to accompany your blouse with dark washed jeans like Kristen Dunst.

Leather Leggings
Leather Leggings are one of falls most exciting trends. Sport your leather like Kim Kardashian with cute and funky tops and accessorize with neutral and simple jewelry.

Purple Heels
Opt for some fantastic purple heels and model them around work or while out shopping. Work them with an all black ensemble like Megan Fox or with a cute LBD and flashy jewels.

Mixed Greens
Jessica Alba knows what is up while she totes around an adorable mixed green shoulder bag. Look for accessories with different shades of green and pair them with neutral colors and prints.

All Navy
Navy is like the new neutral. You can flaunt an all navy ensemble and look totally put together like Camilla Belle. She goes gorge in this color while working together some classic pieces.

Color Never Looked So Good

Top the end of your summer with some sassy and sweet colorful wooden wedges. The celebs have been spotted all over the city rocking these sexy shoes. You can select a flashy pair of these and work it with any outfit. Combine it with a neutral ensemble or a bright one. Just make sure, if you plan to wear a more striking wardrobe with your shoes, mesh the colors of your blazing attire.

Looking fabulous as always, Kate Beckinsale rocks a white jumpsuit while accompanying it with a white tote, festive wedges and blue sunnies. She opts for beach wave hair that totally sends us off with thoughts of the sun and sand.

The lovely Jessica Alba works together sunny green, pink and yellow wedges with a light green blazer and blouse. She cuffs her blazer which showcases a lighter color green, similar to the hue, yellow. She sports rolled jeans and a shoulder bag to perfect this look.

Talented Elizabeth Banks goes bold in all purple and orange. While her shoes match her blouse and jeans, she models off her short locks and adds simple and minimal jewelry. Make sure you always go light on accessories when going adventurous with brights and prints.

Les Chic, Les Chien (Week Nine)

Each week, I review one hundred looks, half of which induce the phonetic uh-mey-zing and half of which induce more violent vomit than the night Jake chose Vienna. With this series (translation: the cool, the rotten), you will ascertain, via my eyes, why an ensemble should spend an evening as your apparel or why an ensemble should spend an evening inside a nondescript box whose ultimate destination is the Salvation Army.

You would think Jessica Alba might get ONE outfit wrong in the time since Les Chic, Les Chien began, but think again. Alba rocks a mint colored blouse that she styles with a leather vest and black leggings. She sports a simple necklace and earrings, carries around a neutral colored handbag and handles her main accessory, daughter Haven. Jess grips her green tea that displays her stylish and trendy two toned nails and sassy bangles.

Its been a Heartbreak Warfare for Katy Perry. She's been dumped by too many guys this year (latest candidate: John Mayer). Do you think she ever considers the fact that if all of these men are leaving her, she might be the problem. Here's a starter: YOUR WARDROBE. A leotard accompanied by a sheer cover and studded leather jacket certainly will NOT do the trick girlfriend. The hair is another massive issue. It looks like KP hasn't showered in days. Go grab yourself some organic shampoo, a CHI and some product and be on your way.

A Variety Wears Them Best

Another summer necessity that will absolutely transition right into fall is a jean vest. Stunning and great on any figure, sport an adorable jean vest with just about anything. Work it with a maxi dress, skirt, shorts, leggings or jeans. Below are some of my favorite ways to flaunt this look. Don't forget that this fashion statement works for both women and men. Too perfect for words.

Jessica Alba knows how to model her vest while pairing it with a flirty and fun maxi dress. She works a neutral colored handbag and strappy sandals while finishing the look with sunnies and a ponytail.

Kate Bosworth should officially be declared a regular on Doll Maison! This fashionista has the trend down while combining a simple blouse, shorts and tan sandals with her vest. This has to be my favorite look. So sexy!

Justin Bieber shows us that this style is not only for women but men too. The Biebs rocks a black and white tee with black jeans (not pictured) and some epic hair.

Usher screams "trendy" with his jean vest, black shirt, black jeans and silver chains. He perfects the look with some dark black sunnies and keeps us wanting more with that mysterious look.

Chic In The City

I passionately respect Jessica Alba for so many reasons. One of them being her exquisite sense of style. As I mentioned last week in Les Chic, Les Chien (Week Five) post, "The girl can do no wrong. She looks hot in sweat pants for christ sake." I stay true to those exact words. Absolutely. For some reason, I am always attracted to her ensembles and secretly want to research every outfit so I can find out the designer and make my purchase. Thank goodness I don't have the time to do something like that or I would be in some serious trouble. I totally had to do a preview of this outfit she was photographed in this weekend, because I seriously adore her taste in fashion and hope I am as chic of a mom as her one day.

Jess walks the streets of NYC (with a Starbucks in hand, of course) as she models a simple and trendy white dress while mingling blue sunnies, a peach colored cross body bag and bright bracelets together.

Spitting Image

I recently came upon a photo of a celebrity that I admire and was gushing over a gorgeous necklace she was wearing. Sadly, after some research, I found out the necklace was a couple thousand dollars. I tried to comprehend the fact that while I am obsessed with fashion, it just wasn't a smart decision financially to try to invest in something so expensive. I got to looking around online and found some inexpensive look a-likes. I realized it wasn't that hard to find something very similar. Below are some of my favorite celeb looks for less. Enjoy!

Ashley Olsen taking a stroll in some gorge gold bangles, wears them with an oversized sweater (as shown). Dress it up with a LBD and grab the similar 'Hammered Mesh Bangle Set' for just $9.

Jessica Alba flashes these fun two - toned sunnies while nearing her car in LA. Sport these with any ensemble and get the complementary pair for $6.

At Comic - Con in San Diego, CA, Ashley Greene rocks a caramel colored stone ring. Purchase the Tiger's Eye cocktail ring for $29, that truly resembles Miss Greene's.

Les Chic, Les Chien (Week Five)

Each week, I review one hundred looks, half of which induce the phonetic uh-mey-zing and half of which induce more violent vomit than the night Jake chose Vienna. With this series (translation: the cool, the rotten), you will ascertain, via my eyes, why an ensemble should spend an evening as your apparel or why an ensemble should spend an evening inside a nondescript box whose ultimate destination is the Salvation Army.

Jessica Alba will always hold a special place in my heart. The girl can do no wrong. She looks hot in sweat pants for christ sake. I seriously have to admit that she may be the best dressed in Hollywood. I adore her navy blue blazer which goes perfectly with her navy, pink and yellow striped skirt. Her white tank top underneath is the perfect hue, adding a crisp and fresh taste. She accompanies the put together look with blue wedges, a yellow handbag and sassy high ponytail. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

I have always admired Selena Gomez for the courage and strength it has taken her to continue to be a young, modest celebrity. She has always been very appropriate and put together but also never afraid to have fun and be spunky. This personal choice in fashion has me stumped though. I realize it is the "cool" thing now to wear the low cut side shirts and expose a bandeau or bra. But, for some reason this particular outfit steers me in the wrong direction. While her bra is adorbs and I seriously want it, I can't help but think she has been dropped in a southern, hick town and tossed in a pig pen. This look has hot mess written all over it.

Jessica Alba absolutely enraptures me as she exquisitely melds refined; a sumptuous red dress, black and gold tote, and black heels; and rocker, a fierce leather jacket and oversized cat sunnies.

Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup, 9-0-2-1-Oh Hell No as the actress upon the left, who once portrayed a transient, disgusts in a shirt she obviously swiped from someone sleeping upon Third and Olive's corner, while the actress upon the right, whose next project's centerpiece is a talking bear, abhorrently pairs a top was once a Massillion-Washington junior's memento and a skirt which was once a lamp shade inside a home upon the corner of Lillian Gish Boulevard and Lincoln Way East.

Magnifique à Paris

Paris Fashion Week has wrapped with Balmain, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, and more rocking the runway before the eyes of celebrity and fashion's elite.  Below are a few of my favs whose ensembles were as major as the ones they were watching.

I always love Katy Perry. The Smurf's star has curves, which she totally knows how to own, and blue hair, which she couldn't have styled more flawlessly. Can we just say smurfalish!

Mila Kunis rocks a classy white coat and simple lace dress. I absolutely love this look but I wish she would have worn her hair in a bun, more resembling Audrey Hepburn.

Jessica Alba sparkles in an adorable blouse and skirt while sitting front row at the Lanvin fashion show.

Fit To Print

This Spring, we run into some fabulous patterned jeans that may shock, interest, and even excite you. While many celebrities have been seen wearing them, I have also seen many girls around town or while out shopping sporting these awesome jeans. I found an adorable pair this past weekend, while shopping, that I am dying to purchase. Printed jeans give us freedom to add boldness, sass, and self-confidence to any outfit.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum rocks these awesome floral printed skinny jeans with a cute fedora. She adds a solid top and cute nude flats to simplify the look.

Jessica Alba goes for a much brighter look with these bold flower printed pants while adding a solid orange top and mint colored heels. She expresses more pops of color while adding a two toned green, knee length jacket.

While preparing to board a flight, Fergie looks ferg-a-licious strutting these fabulous printed pants, and adding a solid top and vest, black wedge and simple handbag.

Recently, we have seen many celebrities out and about sporting awesome, bright, fun and festive coats. The goal for spring coat shopping this season is to look for fabulous bright colored coats, while wearing neutrals underneath. You can also spice the outfit up with a super cute printed scarf, fun and flowy bright pants or colored denim. Many outfits can be produced with a vibrant colored coat, you are not as limited as you would think.
