Pick A Lock (Part One)

I have a hair appointment next week and while I always struggle with how to style my hair, I ALWAYS rely on my celeb look alike's to help me out. I need some MAJ advice. Do you think I should continue growing my hair out so I can get Kim's long look, keep my length now like Ashley's or cut it short for fall like Katy? What do you think! Do you think I should color my hair? Do you think I should continue growing it out, keep it the length it is or cut it? Once we get the final two looks, we will consider more thoughts and opinions and finally decide what will be best for my new fall look. 

Spitting Image

I recently came upon a photo of a celebrity that I admire and was gushing over a gorgeous necklace she was wearing. Sadly, after some research, I found out the necklace was a couple thousand dollars. I tried to comprehend the fact that while I am obsessed with fashion, it just wasn't a smart decision financially to try to invest in something so expensive. I got to looking around online and found some inexpensive look a-likes. I realized it wasn't that hard to find something very similar. Below are some of my favorite celeb looks for less. Enjoy!

The Classic Cardi

Do you ever experience a moment while traveling where you get chilly? Or, perhaps you get cold in a restaurant? A breezy night by the beach? The perfect accessory for those occasions is a comfy and casual cardigan. Below are some of the best ways to work a cardi into your everyday style.

Ashley Greene rocks a caramel colored cardi while exiting a local airport. She owns this look with a simple white tee, ankle jeans, matching handbag and classic dog carrier.

Of course, my girl Kim perfects the cardigan look with bright and fun colors for summer. She works a pink cardi with a white top and ripped jeans while adding a feminine vibe with nude heels and spicing it up with a bright neon tote. 

Rachel Bilson always dresses so carefree, which I admire. Here she looks california fresh in a blue cardigan, gray tee, cuffed boyfriend jeans, neutral flats, brown belt and detailed shoulder bag.

Nightmare At The Museum

The 65^th Met Ball transpired this evening and while a minuscule portion ensured this event was as advertised, Fashion’s Night of Nights, the vast majority of luminaries essentially served as extras within Anna Wintour’s directorial debut, Night of the Lavishly Damned. Below are my Best and Worst Dressed and frankly, restraining myself with only a trio of the latter was a serious accomplishment.

BEST DRESSED

Camilla Belle, whom I seriously adore and I've been told I resemble (not bragging), exudes seductive resplendence in this Ralph Lauren roaring twenties inspired beaded silver gown. The Open Road star's mysterious eyes and lips further evoke an explicit question: How is she perpetually perfect? 

Ashley Greene and Donna Karan's spectacular courtship continued as the 1996 CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year bequeathed the Americana actress this phenomenal frock. The design exquisitely encapsulates Ashley's stated style, classic with a modern twist.

Jessica Biel, whose playful and pleasant personality I enjoyed upon meeting her inside the Beverly Hills Hotel, owned this simple, yet striking Prada. The gown's glow almost exceeded the future Mrs. Justin Timberlake's sixteen and one half carat engagement ring.

WORST DRESSED

Mary-Kate Olsen, I have seriously loved you and your sister since Full House and I'm Talking How The West Was Fun and Winning London, but seriously what the Future Charlie's Angel were you thinking? The Dual Star Co-President appears thirty years north of aged and thirty pounds south of frail in this The Row, which is MKO's label, gown. I'm seriously reconsidering every compliment I ever extended her.

Florence Welch, you are a Grammy nominated and MTV Video Music Award winning musician, but you require a stylist (call me!). This Alexander McQueen catastrophe, and I'm using a charitable adjective, could whimsically clothe Lady Gaga as she performs Edge of Glory. However, this Christmas Tree is NOT acceptable Met Ball attire.

Gwyneth Paltrow, wearing the exact label Jessica Biel enhanced, appears as if Moses not only consumed every ounce of her hot water (yes, she showers with her children), he also monopolized every moment she could and should have spent before a mirror. This Prada abomination commences with inappropriate side boob and concludes with saddle bags sufficiently large for holding Apple (her daughter, not the snack).

Lovely In Lilac

This spring's hottest lip color is Lilac. It is fresh, gorgeous, vibrant, and the greatest part of all is this color looks smashing on just about anyone. You just have to find the right shade for your skin tone. If you have fair skin, aim for a lips with more of a pink tone and if you have medium to dark skin, look for lip color that skews more violet. Below are some adorable celebrities who rock this sassy color.

My girl crush, Katy Perry sparkles in this popular lip color while promoting her fragrance. This particular tint looks beautiful against her fair skin.

Ashley Greene knows how to wear this shade of lilac while at the Twilight Saga Eclipse premiere. It looks elegant and feminine against her fair to medium skin tone and light brown hair.

Flirty and Feminine

Red lace dresses seem to be very popular right now and that's a good thing because anyone can wear this color and lace is uber sexy and sweet. You have to be careful with lace though. You need to be sure that you pick the right dress for your body type. While this is crucial with everything you wear, it is extra crucial with red lace. Sometimes, it will emphasize on areas that need to be a little more under the radar. The lenght of the dress is also very important. You don't want it to be too short because it will look tacky. Make sure it doesn't come up any further than right above the knee. If you want the dress to be a little shorter than above the knee, try making sure your dress has sleeves to make this look elegant yet still sexy.
